Hi
I am getting the following error when I run an OCE (Oracle Certified Envoirnment) test on Oracle 9i.
Alert File:
alter tablespace tbs_gcfu read only
Sat Feb 21 02:31:45 2004
Errors in file /oce/orahome/rdbms/log/oce_ora_1261642.trc:
ORA-00603: ORACLE server session terminated by fatal error
ORA-01114: IO error writing block to file 7 (block # 1)
ORA-01110: data file 7: '/oce/orahome/dbs/tbs_41.f'
ORA-17500: ODM err:ODM ERROR V-41-4-9 Bad file number
ORA-10291: die in tbsdrv to test controlfile undo
Trace File:
ORA-00603: ORACLE server session terminated by fatal error

Can anyone please suggest me...why it is happening?

Hi,
Looks like Oracle encountered an I/O error on disk while trying to read block 1 of file 7 (/oce/orahome/dbs/tbs_41.f) belonging to the tbs_gcfu tablespace. Call your Operating System/ Hardware guys and let them have a look at the disks.
You may also want to try to take file 7 offline, drop the tablespace, and re-create if from the start.
