folks,
I have a solaris 2.8 box currently hosting a 32 Bit Oracle 9.2.0 Dev Instance. I would like to migrate to a 64 Bit Oracle RDBMS since I am on a 2.8 Solaris box. It also seems to be our corporate standard to stay on 64 Bit RDBMS. Can someone please tell me if there is a simple way to have this done?
Can a new 64 Bit 9.2.4 Oracle Home share on the same box with 9.2.0 32 Bit RDBMS? Also will an export of 9.2.0 32 Bit Oracle have problems when I import on a 64 Bit Oracle? If there wont be a problem, I thought of having a new home for 9.2.4 and creating new instance using DCA and use my existing datafiles? If that dont work I thought of running a full import from 9.2.0 to 9.2.4
Please advice and your expert opinion will be greately appreciated.

It is ok you create a new ORACLE_HOME for Oracle rdbms 64 bits, and it is OK to create a new instance. Bu want be able to re-use your current datafiles.
You will have to recreate datafiles, and you can import your data from the old DB.
You can also do a full export from your old DB, create a new instance on 64 bits and full import. The full import will recreate your datafiles and tablespaces. Of course, you will have to create the same directory names on the new server as it exists in your old server.
