Installing Oracle 9i [message #59773]

I have one server with Oracle 7 workgroup server version 7.3.4.0.0 installed. I have two databases also.

Now I want to install Oracle 9i database release 2 ( 9.2.0.1.0 ) on the same machine.

Is it possible to install Oracle 7 and Oracle 9i on the same machine ?

If so what are all the precautions I have to take before installing Oracle 9i like stopping the already exisitng Oracle 7 services etc. ?

Expecting a good reply as soon as possible.

u can install 9i in the same machine as long as u have enough resources. install oracle9i in a new ORACLE_HOME.
I am not sure, whther u need to stop the services ( but there is no harm stopping them...)
