In order to create partition table, i mean i want to create a range partition on a tables pk. do i need any special software ?, or just create table.... with partition clause, is enough ? if any special software needed, how will i know if its installed or not? please help me.

Hi,

You can select "Oracle Partitioning" as an option when installing Oracle Enterprise Edition. Please note that Oracle Partitioning should be licensed separately.

Start the installer to see if it is already installed.
You can also use this script - http://www.orafaq.com/scripts/sql/ver.txt

it looks like we have partitioning installed. but how will I know if we have the license to use it.

Get a copy of your license agreement with Oracle. If you don't have it, contact your Oracle Sales Rep.
