hi

There is a requirment.
Oracle is runing on a machine(with single processor)and the licence is installed(per processor). Now if i brought a new machine with new architecture and and this time the number of processors are more(typically 2).Can i transfer the same license to the new machine. If yes how can I do that.If now what is the reason.

As per my knowledge there are two type of lisence i.e Per-server lisence and per processor lisence. Please suggest me if i am wrong.

Will ther be any difference in transfer of lisece when per server /per processor lisence..

regards
sunny

Sunny,
Yes ,its possible to transfer the license from one Server to another. You will have to buy additional licenses to cover the additional CPUs.
The two types of license are Per processor and Named User.
