is the setting are same as linux.whether we can install oracle8i linux version on ReD Hat Linux8.can we install oracle 8i for linux(intel) in the solair(intel).

I am not sure if I understood your question. Linux and Solaris are different systems that require different installation media and different kernel settings(if thats what you are asking about ).

when i am trying to install oracle 8.1.6 on redhat linux8
its not working whether i can install on oracle on redhat 8 or 9

IF this is a new installation,why not go for 9i ? Its been a long time since I installed 8.1.6 on Linux, so I am not too sure. You could post your question on the Linux forum . But you do know that 8.1.6 has been desupported ,right ?
