Hi,

We've Oracle 7.3.4 installed on unix server(solaris8) and it was fine, but after that i installed another oracle server on the same system (it's oracle 8.1.6), and after installing the second oracle the sytem is fine.

The problem was when the Unix server startup just Oracle 8.1.6 is started up and oracle 7.3.4 is not started up, so all the time i need to shutdown both of them and then i have to start oracle 7.3.4 first then oracle 8.1.6, to make both of them are working.

So, i need your help to solve this problem and make both of them startup automatically.

Thanks

add the entries (for both 734 and 816 databases) in oratab .
edit you dbstart/dbshut scripts in $ORACLE_HOME/bin.
point oratab entry to your oratab file.
dbstart/dbshut reads the oratab entries.
so, call the dbstart/dbshut with your regular startup /shutdown scripts
