My database is in oracle 8i. My developer 6i is in another home and i couldn't connect to 8i database in developer. TNS service problem is displaying. I changed the tnsnames.ora in dev6inet80tnsnames.ora with my 8i listener configuration. but still the problem exists. Pls help me

Hi Sukesh..
If u set the Tnsnames.ora in Dev6i home also, this problem will not be coming..So make sure that u set that properly...also set it bu running the net easy config utility from the Dev6i Home..not by editing Tnsnames.ora bcos there could be some conflict...
also Make sure that Listener is up and Running...
