Hello, I am having a problem with the listener after just loading Oralce9i. Getting the error ORA-12535 "TNS: Operation Timed Out". I did a search on this page to look for some solutions and tried the following.

Add the string CONNECT_TIMEOUT_LISTENER_NAME = 0 to the listener.ora file.

I also tried creating a new listener with the port of 1630.

Both the listener and database services appear to be started.

Any help would be appreciated.

CONNECT_TIMEOUT_LISTENER=0 is correct.
so, it may be an OS Network error! 
anyhow,

1. can u use tnsping?
2. do u have multiple datbases on the same machine
3. any firewall installed?
