alter database backup controlfile to trace;
- a copy of controlfile
- generate editable script fi

|
a backup control file is generated on user dump trace. This file is text format and allow to edit. The purpose for this command is to backup a editable format of controlfile. By the way, any structure change should follow with backup of controlfile with this command and binary backup. Hope this is helping.
