Hi,
I am a java programmer and new to oracle I want to know the few things I know it is basic for you guys

1. What is orcale 11i I heare that the lateset version is oracle 9i ?

2. What are the SQL.PL/SQL diffenrent versions .And what is the latest version?

3. What is CASE or CASE TOOLS ?

4. What is the meaning of oracle application or are oracle applications

What are CRM ,Financials & Projects HRM ,Manufacturing, Supply Chain

5. What is the latest version of forms (developer 2000).
6. What is OAS?

1. Oracle 9i is the latest Oracle Database version whereas 11i is an Applications server and it has to rely on a database like Oracle 8/8i/9i.

2. SQL is oneline Sequential Query Language. PL/SQL is the programmatic method using the basic SQL.

3. CASE is Computer Aided Software Engg. The general CASE Tools available is Oracle Designer 2000, ERwin, etc.

4.An application is a general commercial application developed using any front-end tool like VB or Oracle Developer (Forms & Reports). An applications is an ERP suite where again customisation can be done using the Forms & Reports.

5. The latest version of Forms & Reports is 6i, which is web-enabled.

6.OAS is Oracle Applications Server
